The Verified badge: what it means and how to earn it

The Verified seal shows that a real, identity-checked person is behind an account. Here's where it appears, what it does (and doesn't) promise, and how to earn and keep yours.

The Verified seal is Gigolance's way of showing that a real person — with a confirmed government ID — stands behind an account. It's earned through identity verification, and it's one of the first things buyers check.

Where you'll see it

Profiles

A seal next to a member's name on their public profile.

Gigs

On gig cards and gig pages, so buyers know the seller is identity-checked before they order.

Messages

Inside chat, so both sides know who they're really talking to.

What the seal does — and doesn't — mean

  • It means: the person's identity was confirmed against a genuine government ID and a live selfie.
  • It doesn't mean: an endorsement of quality — that's what ratings, reviews, and seller levels are for.
  • It's one per person: the same seal applies whether you're buying or selling. Verify once and it follows your account.
  • It's always backed by escrow: verified or not, every order is protected by the Resolution Center and held in escrow until you accept.

How to earn it

    Open Verify identity

    Start from your dashboard and pick your document type.

    Submit ID + live selfie

    Photograph your government ID and take a live selfie.

  3. 3

    Pass the checks

    When your selfie matches your ID, the seal is added to your account automatically — no request needed.

It appears the moment verification passes — give it a minute and refresh. If a reviewer asked for a new selfie, your seal returns as soon as the retake is approved. Still missing? Message us from the support widget and we'll re-sync it.

Frequently asked

Yes. Verification is about the person, not the role — a verified buyer and a verified seller carry the same seal. It simply shows a real, identity-checked member.

It can be revoked if a verification is later found invalid or if our team needs a fresh check — you'll be emailed with exactly what to re-submit to restore it.

No. Identity verification and the Verified seal are free. (It's separate from the paid Gigolance Plus badge.)
