Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

Welcome to Gigolance. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Gigolance marketplace, including browsing, buying, selling, and messaging. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

If you are using Gigolance on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure — never share your password or one-time codes.

A single account can act as both a buyer and a seller. You agree not to create accounts to evade suspension, manipulate ratings, or misrepresent your identity.

3. Using the marketplace

Sellers offer services ("Gigs") with defined scope, pricing, and delivery times. Buyers place orders against those Gigs or against custom offers. You agree to communicate honestly, deliver what you promise, and treat other users with respect.

Keep your transactions and communications on Gigolance. Moving an order off-platform forfeits the protections these Terms and our escrow provide.

4. Orders, payments, and escrow

When a buyer places an order, the payment is held in escrow by Gigolance's ledger. Funds are released to the seller only after the buyer approves the delivery or an approval window passes. Approved cancellations return the escrowed funds to the buyer's balance.

You authorise Gigolance to collect payments, hold funds in escrow, apply the fees described below, and process payouts and refunds in accordance with these Terms and our published payment and clearance policies.

5. Fees

Gigolance charges service fees on transactions, disclosed at the time of purchase or in your dashboard. Sellers' earnings are subject to a clearance period before they become available to withdraw. We may update fees with reasonable notice.

6. Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of the content you submit, but grant Gigolance a licence to host, display, and use it to operate and promote the platform. Unless an order specifies otherwise, rights in delivered work transfer to the buyer upon full payment.

Do not post content you don't have the rights to, and do not infringe the intellectual property of others.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not use Gigolance to break the law, defraud others, spam, harass, or distribute malware. You may not manipulate reviews or rankings, circumvent fees or escrow, or misrepresent your services or identity. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Disputes and the Resolution Center

If an order goes wrong, buyers and sellers should first try to resolve it directly, then use the Resolution Center to request a revision, extension, or cancellation. Where the parties cannot agree, Gigolance may review the order record and make a binding decision to release or refund the escrowed funds.

9. Termination

You may stop using Gigolance at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the marketplace and its users. Obligations that by their nature should survive — including payment, escrow, and content licences for completed orders — survive termination.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Gigolance is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers; it is not a party to the underlying contracts between them and does not guarantee any particular outcome. The platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gigolance is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

11. Gigolance Plus subscriptions

Gigolance Plus is an optional paid subscription for sellers, available as Standard and Premium plans billed monthly, every 6 months, or annually. The price, billing cycle, and included benefits are shown clearly before you subscribe and on the plans page at all times.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account or by contacting support; cancellation stops future charges and your benefits remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for. To change plans, cancel your current plan (benefits continue to the end of the paid period) and subscribe to the new plan when it ends.

Card payments and subscription billing are processed by Stripe (Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates) as our payment processor, which handles secure checkout, card processing, and applicable sales taxes. Your purchase is also subject to Stripe's terms, and the charge will appear on your billing statement under our statement descriptor.

12. Refunds and cancellations

Marketplace orders are protected by escrow: approved cancellations through the Resolution Center return escrowed funds to the buyer, as described in section 8.

Gigolance Plus subscription charges are refundable within 14 days of a charge if you have not made material use of the paid benefits in that period; renewal charges can always be avoided by cancelling before the renewal date. 13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform. Continuing to use Gigolance after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
