Stay protected: Gigolance's off-platform policy
Why payments and communication need to stay on Gigolance — and how that keeps every order, payment, and conversation protected.
4 min read
Everything that protects you on Gigolance — escrow-held payments, the Resolution Center, and a support team that can act on the facts — only works when your communication and payments happen on the platform. The moment a deal moves to email, WhatsApp, or a direct payment, that protection is gone.
Why it matters
Your money is protected
On-platform payments are held in escrow and only released when the work is approved. A payment made outside Gigolance can't be refunded, disputed, or recovered by us.
Everything on record
Your chat, the brief, offers, and deliveries are logged with the order — so if something goes wrong, a dispute is decided on evidence, not memory.
Support can actually help
Our team can step in on any on-platform order. If the conversation or payment happened elsewhere, there's nothing we can see or enforce.
Scam prevention
Most marketplace scams start with "let's continue on WhatsApp" or "pay me directly and save the fee." Staying on-platform closes that door.
What's not allowed
- Sharing or requesting contact details — phone numbers, email addresses, or handles for WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype, Discord, social media, or any other channel — to communicate or get paid outside Gigolance.
- Paying or getting paid outside the platform — bank transfers, PayPal, crypto, gift cards, or any direct payment for work arranged on Gigolance.
- Links, QR codes, or files whose purpose is to move the conversation or the payment off the platform.
- Asking the other side to do any of the above — requesting an off-platform payment is treated the same as making one.
What happens if the policy is broken
Off-platform activity can lead to a warning, restricted features, or permanent account removal — for both buyers and sellers. And remember: money sent outside Gigolance is not protected and can't be recovered by our team.
When sharing details is OK
Some projects genuinely require access or contact to deliver the work — for example, credentials for an account the seller must work in, or a phone number for a service that needs one. That's fine when it's required for the order itself: share it after the order starts, keep it to what the work needs, and keep every agreement and payment on Gigolance.
If someone asks you to go off-platform
- 1
Keep the conversation on Gigolance
Don't move to another app or send contact details — even "just to talk." Everything stays protected while it stays here.
- 2
Decline politely
A simple "I keep all my work and payments on Gigolance" ends most attempts. Genuine buyers and sellers won't mind.
- 3
Report it
Use the report option on the message or profile so our Trust & Safety team can review the account. Reports are confidential.

Contact support if you're unsure
Not sure whether a request is legitimate? Ask us before you share anything — we'll tell you.
Frequently asked
Yes — when it's genuinely needed to deliver the order (account access, a service that requires contact details), shared after the order starts. What's never allowed is using it to move communication or payment off Gigolance.
No. Being asked is not a violation — accepting is. Decline and report the request; that actually protects your account standing.
Contact support right away. We'll review the account involved, but be aware that off-platform payments are outside escrow — we usually can't recover them. That's exactly why the policy exists.
Yes. Ongoing and repeat work with someone you met on Gigolance should stay on Gigolance — that keeps every new order protected too.
