Managing revisions smoothly
Revisions are normal and healthy — when handled well. Clear, batched, kind feedback gets you a better result faster and keeps the relationship strong for the next order.

A revision round isn't a sign something went wrong — it's the part of the process where good becomes great. The buyers who get the most from revisions treat them as a focused conversation, not a list of complaints. Done right, they cost one round; done poorly, they spiral into five.
Know what you bought
Each package includes a set number of revision rounds, shown on your order. A revision is a refinement within the original brief. A new direction — a different concept, an added deliverable — is a new request, which is completely fine as an add-on, just not the same thing.
A revision
Tweaking what was agreed: 'make the logo bolder', 'tighten this paragraph'. Covered by your included rounds.
A new request
Changing the brief: 'actually, try a mascot instead'. Fair to ask — handle it as an Extra or follow-up order.
Feedback
Specific, actionable notes the seller can act on without guessing what you mean.
Timing
Each revision round has its own short clock. Prompt, batched feedback keeps the order moving.
Give feedback sellers can use
- 1
Batch it
Collect all your notes into one message per round instead of trickling them out. Drip-feeding turns one revision into many and frustrates everyone.
- 2
Be specific and located
'The headline feels weak' is vague. 'The headline is too long — can we cut it to under eight words and make it bolder?' is actionable.
- 3
Explain the why
'Our audience is older, so the tiny font won't work' helps the seller solve it, not just patch it.
- 4
Separate must-fix from nice-to-have
Rank your notes. It tells the seller where to focus and keeps small preferences from derailing the essentials.
Kindness is leverage
A respectful, appreciative tone gets you a seller's best discretionary effort — the extra polish that isn't strictly in scope. People go the extra mile for buyers who make the work feel collaborative.
When revisions stall
Occasionally a revision cycle gets stuck — you're not converging, or the gap is wider than tweaks can close. Don't let it drag. Talk it through directly, and if you can't get there, the Resolution Center lets you request an extension or a fair resolution. For the bigger picture on tricky orders, sellers read navigating challenging orders — the same calm, specific approach works from your side too.
Frequently asked
If the work genuinely doesn't match the agreed brief, that's not a used-up revision — raise it on the order or in the Resolution Center. If it's new direction, expect to add a small Extra; that's fair to the seller's time.
Within the brief, work with your included rounds and batch your notes. Beyond the brief, new directions are add-ons. Clear scope upfront — see writing a great brief — keeps revisions few.
Promptly — each round has its own clock, and a quick, complete reply keeps your delivery on track and the seller in flow.
